GE Healthcare Finnamore/MOE

Objectives

In 2010, Finnamore Ltd (now GE Healthcare Finnamore) introduced our coach training to its executives to support the company’s ambition to foster a coaching culture. In 2013 the company sent two of its executives, including the Managing Partner, John Deverill, on one of the programmes we deliver for charity – The Ministry of Entrepreneurship. Mr Deverill found the wider experience of working with people from very varied backgrounds to be invaluable and suggested that some MOE participants could join the next GE Healthcare Finnamore coach training programme.

Solutions

Nine MOE participants joined twelve GE Healthcare Finnamore managers, with MOE supplying two additional trainers to assist our Head of Training, James Wright, in delivering the course. These trainers are on the MOE Trainers Pathway, having first qualified on the MOE coach training course themselves. The GE Healthcare Finnamore-MOE programme ran for 5 days spread over several months, with practice assignments in between.

Outcome

Both the corporate and the MOE participants found it beneficial to work with people from a wider remit than usual and the two assistant trainers gained experience of delivering training in a corporate environment. The training, will be repeated by GE Healthcare Finnamore in 2014, to include MOE’s participation.
